Mains par Cœur/ Händer vid Hjärtat is a tribute to the complexity of children’s games and the spontaneous physical connections that appear on playgrounds. This dance performance is meant for audiences of all ages, kids and adults alike. In an atmosphere of lively sounds, we fill the space while clapping hands and singing in unison. Guided by the desire to reinvent the rules, we imagine new meeting points letting rhythms, voices and movements intertwine. Across the performance we wish to carry a pedagogical dimension around cooperation, memory and exchange between generations and languages. Do we know the game by heart? Do we have it on the tip of our tongues?
The duo between Maya Giraudet (FR) and Saga Ivéus Wenglert (SE) was formed in 2022 and developed over three years of studies in dance and performance at Stockholm University of the Arts. Centered around dance as our core, we work with humor, rhythm, voice, and the use of language as our main tools.
From studio research to the stage, our relationship with the audience is one of our primary concerns, as it carries our desire to make artistic practices more accessible and to encourage participation.
