Project description

The project Tipping Point has its starting point from the idea of “falling over the edge”: a movement that is in constant negotiation with balance and distribution of weight. Rolling is one main component in the work and serves as a physical metaphor for constant tipping, where weight is constantly shifting from one part of the body to another. Using rolling as a starting point, I want to examine and describe the body’s way of balancing and falling, folding and unfolding movements in layers and repetitive patternings.

Biography

Lovisa Mattisson (SE) is a freelance dancer and dance artist, currently living in Gothenburg, Sweden. In 2024 she graduated from Trinity Laban with a Bachelor in Contemporary Dance. Her works start from the floor and through the body with physical presence in the room, the body and with others in space. She works with movements as the primary source of information creating an integrated world between dance, music and audience.
