The artistic residency brings together Romanian choreographers Maria-Luiza Dimulescu, Maria-Beatrice Oneț, and Mariana Gavriciuc at Vitlycke – Centre for Performing Arts, with the aim of developing the artistic and pedagogical framework of BORN TO TOUCH.

Supported by Culture Moves Europe, the 7-day residency is conceived as a space for artistic research, knowledge exchange, and collaborative creation. Drawing inspiration from the performative installations BORN and on the poetics of touch, the residency explores the body as a living archive and touch as a fundamental relational language, laying the groundwork for a participatory artistic laboratory focused on embodied research, empathy, and connection.

Maria-Luiza Dimulescu, Maria-Beatrice Oneț, and Mariana Gavriciuc are Romanian choreographers and performers who received the National Centre for Dance Award for their contribution to the Romanian contemporary dance scene.

Maria-Luiza’s artistic practice explores feminist and socio-cultural themes through performative and interdisciplinary approaches. Since 2025, she has been the artistic co-director of the CONNECT Contemporary Dance Festival, where she contributes to its curatorial vision and strategic development, supporting diverse artistic voices and fostering international collaborations.

Maria-Beatrice’s recent work focuses on real-time composition, street performances, and cultural interventions in public spaces. She is a member of the cultural associations Unfold Motion and Delazero. Since 2017, she has been part of the creative group GoldenBoi Screendance, producing award-winning dance films.

Mariana Gavriciuc’s artistic practice centers on personal narratives, which she explores through movement, video, and text. She often draws on intimate experiences and autobiographical fragments, recontextualizing them in performative settings. She is the co-founder of Delazero Association, a member of TANGENt and Late Field Collective, and co-founder of GoldenBoi Screendance.
