DCL – Dance communication Lab is a short-term exchange formula between dancers, where
the main aim is that 6 professional dancers, coming from the above-mentioned partner
countries get to know each other through improvisation, which is the most distinctive process
of creation in contemporary dance.

The 2 day-long Dance Communication Lab will take place in Zagreb and will be led by a
dance artist and choreographer Petra Hrascanec. The process will result in project
presentation on the 2nd day in the evening. The final presentation will take place in Zagreb
Dance Center on May 20th (exact time tbd). The presentation is open to public.

The Dance communication Lab is organized as a part of the Beyond Front@: Bridging
Periphery a Creative Europe project (2023-2026) created by Central Europe Dance Theatre –
CEDT (Hungary), Bunker (Slovenia), Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance – HIPP (Croatia),
Krakow Dance Theatre – Krakowski Teatr Tańca (Poland), M Studio (Romania) and Vitlycke –
CPA (Sweden) to foster local development of the contemporary dance fields.

When is DCL happening?
May 18th 2026 – arrival of participants
May 19th 2026 – DCL process
May 20th 2026 – DCL process and presentation
May 21st 2026 – departure

Who is DCL for?
• for dance professionals (dancers, choreographers) from partner countries: Hungary,
Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Romania and Sweden
• we are looking for professional dance artists with stage experiences. The lab will be a
creative meeting of independent artists who will share their experience, ways of acting
and creative tools.

What we offer?
The organizer (HIPP) will cover:
• accomodation for three nights
• per diems (in the amount of 25 EUR per day for three days, 75 EUR in total)
The Beyond Front@ project national partner from your country will cover:
• travel costs
• fee (150 EUR gross)

• Dance artists will be selected by Croatian Institue for Movement and Dance (HIPP) – the
