Janne-Camilla Lyster is a Norwegian choreographer, writer and performer. She gained her artistic PhD with the project «Choreographic poetry: Creating literary scores for dance», and has a particular interest in pre-figurative practices, including scores, experimental notation and notation systems for movement. She has published poetry collections, novels, plays, essays and performance scores. Her choreographic work is presented internationally. She is a professor of choreography at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and has previously also worked as a professor of creative writing.
Pinquins is Jennifer Torrence, Sigrun Rogstad Gomnæs and Ane Marthe Sørlien Holen. They are based in Oslo. Over their 17-year existence Pinquins has created numerous works with composers, instrument builders, scenographers, and diverse musicians spanning experimental genres from new music to free improvisation to noise. The group’s artistic practice focuses on objects, body, and voice to create works that challenge boundary notions around genre and the role of the performer. Collective composition is an increasingly important aspect of Pinquins. Their first work, INTERVALL (2023), created with object-artist Kjersti Alm Eriksen, is nominated for The Norwegian Composer’s Society “Composition of the Year” in 2024. Pinquins has been presented at Donaueschingen, Ultima, Spor, Nordic Music Days, Sound of Stockholm, Only Connect, MINU, Borealis, and Cafe OTO, among others.
