DCL – Dance communication Lab is a short-term exchange formula between dancers, where the main aim is that 6 professional dancers coming from the abovementioned partner countries get to know each other through improvisation, which is the most distinctive process of creation in contemporary dance.
The DCL is Budapest is organised by Beyond Front@ partner Central European Dance Theatre in Budapest, Hungary.
The 2 day long research project will take place under the mentorship of Márta Ladjánszki.
DCL CEDT-Budapest will take place 13th -16th November 2025 as part of the annual Sissi Autumn Dance Week (SŐT7) at the Bethlen Square Theater. The demonstration might take any format or location (e.g. indoor, outdoor, walking), length is usually between 15-40 min and has public audience.
With Dance Communication Lab our aim is to bridge the gap between dance artists from different countries and provide them with significant experience to help them move their careers in the international dance scene.
Sweden is represented in the program by Ingeborg Zackariassen.
Behind the Curtain is organised within the framework of Beyond Front@: Bridging Periphery – a Creative Europe project (2023-2026) created by Central Europe Dance Theatre – CEDT (Hungary), Bunker (Slovenia), HIPP (Croatia), Krakow Dance Theatre (Poland), M Studio (Romania) and Vitlycke – Centre for Performing Arts (Sweden) to foster local development of the contemporary dance fields.
