We are pleased to announce a new international residency opportunity for dance artists based in Sweden! In April 2026, one artist from Sweden will travel to Québec, Canada for a residency at Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique, as part of a Québec/Sweden artistic exchange.

Circuit-Est is a choreographic centre in the heart of Montreal, Canada that has been supporting research, creation, and professional development in contemporary dance for nearly 40 years. Each year, it hosts residencies, international exchanges, and classes that offer choreographers and performers a stimulating space to experiment, connect, and share their practice locally and internationally.

Residency dates in Québec
From 23 March to 3 April, a Swedish artist will be in residence at Circus-Est, Centre Chorégraphique in Montréal, Canada. If desired, there is an opportunity to organize a public presentation at the end of the residency.
From 6 to 17 April, Vitlycke – Centre for Performing Arts will host a Canadian artist in residence at Vitlycke-CPA in Tanumshede, Sweden. The selected Swedish and Canadian artists will meet twice – once during the residency in Sweden and once during the residency in Canada.

Travel, accommodation, per diem, and a stipend for participation are provided.

Applicant eligibility

We are looking for dance professionals (dancers, choreographers) based in Sweden who are working on a solo project or wish to create a new solo work, advance their research, or further develop an existing contemporary dance project. We welcome dance artists who are interested in a collaborative environment and in connecting with the contemporary dance scene in Canada.
