Recension:
”Oemotståndligt i lindy hopens anda.” Thomas Olsson, SvD

As a tribute to fleeting encounters and eternal moments on the dance floor, choreographer Salka Ardal Rosengren has created Lasting Figures. Here, she brings social dance onto the stage and lets us experience it in an entirely new way.
It becomes a curious and heartfelt meeting with the powerful yet elegant swing dances rooted in 1930s Harlem, New York. But it’s also an honest exploration of ambiguity and power dynamics in a charged present, where bodies and traditions meet.
Lasting Figures invites us to listen deeply – both inward and outward – as the pulse in the room rises. Through the sensitive interplay between Salka, her dance partner Ama Kyei, and Marcus Doverud on drums and saxophone, the social dynamics intensify, transforming into cascades of steps, rhythms, and intimate moments.
A tender, pulsating encounter between contemporary dance and lindy hop.
