wandudu: insects perspective - mpululu ntuve (SE)

production residency

07.07 - 13.07

During this residency, Mpululu will work on her new project WADUDUD: Insects’ Perspective.

Residency in collaboration with Västra Götalandsregionen Kulturförvaltningen

WADUDU: Insects’ Perspective is a 3–8 minute short documentary that invites viewers into the fascinating world of insects — using their tiny yet complex lives as a mirror for human emotions and relationships. Through a poetic fusion of dance and film, the project captures a captivating journey where movement and nature intertwine in a celebration of life’s smallest details.

About the Artist
Mpululu Ntuve is a versatile dancer and choreographer whose journey spans classical ballet, modern dance, and the vibrant styles of hip hop culture. By blending these diverse forms, she has developed a unique movement language that both captivates and connects on a deep emotional level.

Rooted in her Tanzanian heritage, Mpululu draws heavily from her cultural background — integrating the rhythms, landscapes, and life of Tanzania into her work. This influence is especially present in WADUDU, which reflects her connection to nature and her community.

Mpululu’s experience competing in national and international dance battles has given her a rich understanding of the art form’s history and its global expressions. These encounters continue to inform and inspire her artistic process.

In addition to performing and choreographing, Mpululu has contributed to the creative visions of fellow choreographers and actively mentors young dancers. She is dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive space for emerging artists, sharing her knowledge, and nurturing the next generation of creative voices.
