We are glad to welcome PA× Performing Arts Multiplied/Kyrie Oda with the project “Stranger in a Strange Land” to Vitlycke-CPA!
The project was selected for a production residency at Vitlycke-CPA through an open call in August 2024. This Open Call, organized by Vitlycke-CPA, offers a possibility to aspiring professional dancers, choreographers, stage artists and dance companies from Sweden to develop their creative work at Vitlycke-CPA.
Stranger in a Strange Land is inspired by The Book of Exodus. It touches subjects, amongst others, such as alienation and various hardships as well as the delivery from slavery and redemption. What does this mean for you today, in society, family or your own body?
PA×’ work is characterised by a strong physicality and belief in the expressiveness of movement. With the focus on contemporary dance we create tourable black-box performances as well as site-specific pieces for children and adults. Our aim is to create life transforming experiences! Mainly we work in international collaborations, intercultural dialogue and in close collaboration between art forms. PA× was founded in 2016 in Gothenburg by Kyrie Oda and Love Hellgren.
