Gun’s mom and dad are constantly arguing and getting divorced. Gun feels lonely. Then her cat Majs suddenly starts talking to her. A new friendship begins, a relationship that becomes increasingly important in Gun’s insecure existence. But who is it that wakes her up when she goes to sleep?

A grand opera performance in a small format, with orchestral music that sounds like a cross between Tchaikovsky and Tom & Jerry. A musical experience with a story that everyone can relate to – to be afraid of the unknown and to find comfort where you least expect it.

On stage we get to see Jessica Elevant and Ulrika Skarby who portray Gun and her cat Majs. The roles of mother and father are pre-recorded and performed by a female and a male choir, respectively. To this is added the pre-recorded symphony orchestra, which with all its instruments creates a powerful feeling.

Riksteatern in collaboration with the Royal Opera – Unga på Operan.
