The body that carries with it stories, experiences, cells, blood, fluids, bones, limbs. The body that enfolds us, carries us forward, meets the others – that sees and is seen. How does the body think? Can all these fragments instinctively create a form of coherence and meaning? And is that important?
The production is about identity and presence, yearnings and dreams. WEE uses movement to relate to nature as a body, and connects the two as places for experience and remembering. Under the nothing night’s perspective suggests rather than narrates, and absence and a sense of non-existence are recurring topics, like the idea of a person in an unusual situation or as a stream of movement that can be read on several levels. Boundaries are blurred, and perception and sensation become part of the experience.
Wee has been creating productions for more than 20 years, and it is 10 years since the last solo with Gry Kipperberg. This time, they have also invited film-maker Laida Lertxundi to be part of the project, and start by looking at how experiences, bodies and emotions resonate with different incidents, spaces and landscapes.
