Goizueta studied architecture for six months at the Technology Institute of Costa Rica (TEC) and then graphic design at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), but never finished because illness forced him to spend a significant period of time in isolation. During that time, he began developing his artistic career through painting, photography, and drawing.
At only 34, he has participated in exhibitions in Argentina, Canada, China, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Panama, Switzerland and the United States.
Luciano Goizueta about the residency at Vitlycke – Centre for Performing Arts:
“The first thing that comes into my mind is how to reflect on how different our realties are, this based on my previous experiences traveling through Europe and the images I’ve seen from where Vitlycke-CPA is. This experience of creation in such different environment will influence greatly my work.
There is a project I’ve been workin on, is about how importat the studio space has become for me, it has become almost like a piece in itself, it generates great impact in what an how I produce."
